The pride-of-place town centre shop.

Refurbished from a tired 1960’s precast concrete eyesore to a slick modern shop with another storey on top – suited to the luxury aesthetic demanded by the shop: Flannels.
BSC made this possible by designing the new third floor, assessing and strengthening the existing 2 storey frame for the additional floor.

We also designed removing the external walls and redoing them, which entailed redesigning the whole lateral stability structure of the building, as well as ensuring temporary stability during works.

Design of new stairs and lift shafts, bespoke cladding support and fit-out features design, concrete remedial works design… a long list of design works in all.

Site support the whole way, proactive and reactive design, for a smooth and pleasant working experience with both the design and the site teams.

Years of applied ingenuity, teamwork, effort and training so well applied as to now be totally hidden from the untrained eye.

Hidden behind the glamorous shop finishes and humbly relied on for daily use.

The highstreet is much visually improved now, the building has a new lease on life, and all parties are delighted.

The project is a fantastic success for all involved, and for St Helier.
