Sycamore Cottage
As the private home of Local Building Contractor Scott Le Breton this was a Jersey Design Awards 2019 wining project that Godel Architects rightly deserved.
The historic farm house was iconic of Le Mont de la Barcelone and was sympathetically extended and modernised whilst retaining its picturesque charm.
The rear of the property was extended cutting into the steep embankment creating a large lounge/family room overlooking the valley and adjacent swimming pond as well as bedroom, utility and wc with a further bedroom and bathroom above.
The redevelopment embraced traditional and modern methods of construction. Lime pointed stone work, reinforced concrete retaining wall, below slab thermal insulation, green roof, timber and glass.
