The project consisted of a first floor timber frame extension to increase the habitable space available at the property, and replacing a portion of pitched roof with mono-pitched rafters. The timber frame element and roof structure were to a specialist’s design and details.
BSC services involved the design and detailing of the foundations required for the new timber frame structure, checking existing foundations where the proposed structure is supported off the existing walls, checking existing lintels and, where appropriate, detailing new lintels over proposed openings.
Structure for a new store, adjacent to the garage, was designed and detailed by BSC the existing roadside wall foundations were checked for their adequacy for the new structure.
The proposed structure was SER certified in-house by BSC.
