BSC Ltd were commissioned by the Parish of St Helier as lead consultants to address pedestrian and vehicle safety on Tower Road.  The scheme involved Parish compulsory purchase of private land to enable the road to be widened sufficiently to provide a much needed footpath for pedestrians and address the historic adverse camber of the road for motorists and cyclists.

To widen the road reinforced concrete retaining walls were designed to suit the site topography.

BSC Ltd fulfilled the role of;

Architect – obtaining both Planning and Building statutory permissions

Structural Engineer – completing design, detail and SER certification

Project Manager – overseeing tender process, tender queries, programming and costs

HSPC – Health and Safety Project Co-ordinator for the ‘Major Project’ to comply with ‘Management in Construction (Jersey) regulations 2016’.

The project was tackled in two phases during April and August to limit disruption and was delivered within timeframe and budget.
